But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. Matthew 24:36.
The voice of God is heard from heaven, declaring the day and hour of Jesus’ coming, and delivering everlasting covenant to His people. Like peals of loudest thunder His words roll through the earth.
He spoke one sentence, and then paused, while the words were rolling through the earth. The Israel of God stood with their eyes fixed upward, listening to the words as they came from the mouth of Jehovah and rolled through the earth like peals of loudest thunder. It was awfully solemn. At the end of every sentence the saints shouted, “Glory! Hallelujah!”
The living saints, 144,000 in number, knew and understood the voice, while the wicked thought it was thunder and an earthquake.
The Israel of God stand listening, with their eyes fixed upward. Their countenances are lighted up with His glory, and shine as did the face of Moses when he came down from Sinai. The wicked cannot look upon them. And when the blessing is pronounced on those who have honored God by keeping His Sabbath holy, there is a mighty shout of victory.
Then commenced the jubilee, when the land should rest.
A glorious light shone upon them [the saints]. How beautiful they then looked! All marks of care and weariness were gone, and health and beauty were seen in every countenance. Their enemies, the heathen around them, fell like dead men; they could not endure the light that shone upon the delivered, holy ones. This light and glory remained upon them, until Jesus was seen in the clouds of heaven.
And I saw a flaming cloud come where Jesus stood. Then Jesus . . . took His place on the cloud which carried Him to the East, where it first appeared to the saints on earth–a small black cloud which was the sign of the Son of man. While the cloud was passing from the Holiest to the East, which took a number of days, the synagogue of Satan worshipped at the saints’ feet.

Dear Friends
When we lived in Utah, our house was only two blocks from the Wasatch mountains. We loved having them so near so we could hike up the little path at the end of our block until we were high above the town. As we would climb higher and higher until our house looked about the size of a Monopoly house, the pressures of everyday life seemed far away. We. Sometimes, we climbed so high that we could look down upon smaller aircraft as they flew through the valley below. The view from that height was spectavular! We never tired of it.
On Friday nights, we would hike up into those mountains after we got home from work. We’d find a comfortable spot to sit and watch the sun go down. As the stars came out, the view became even more beautiful. Below us was man’s poor attempt at lighting his own world: above us, the sky was filled with brilliant stars. All of the worries and cares seemed to disappear as we gazed upon the tranquel scene. David’s words often came to our mind, “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth his handiwork.” Ps 19:1
How often we are like those man-made lights in the valley attempting to shine in the light of our own kindling. We put on this artificial “light” by what we allow into our mind. These things are then reflected in our actions, words, and attitudes. How important, then, to allow only those things into our mind that are according to the guideline Paul gives us: “whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” Phil 4:8
Moreover, we need the Light of God shining through us, The True Light Who says, “I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” John 8:12 If we follow His leading in all things, He will declare of us, “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matt 5:14-16 What a privilege! As little lights reflecting the Mighty Light, we may “show forth the praises of him who hath called (us) out of darkness into his marvellous light: 1 Peter 2:9
May we continually fill our mind and heart with the Sun of Righteousness through meditating upon His Word, hiding it deep within our heart that every part of us becomes illuminated with His Light. (Mal 4:2; Ps 119:11) May we, as we do this, be “changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” 2 Cor 3:18 May we so reflect our Dear Saviour in all that we do and say and think, that others will take knowledge of us that we have been with Jesus. (Acts 4:13)
