Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is evil thereof. Matthew 6:34.
The Lord has shown me in vision, repeatedly, that it is contrary to the Bible to make any provision for our temporal wants in the time of trouble. I saw that if the saints have food laid up by them, or in the fields, in the time of trouble when sword, famine, and pestilence are in the land, it will be taken from them by violent hands, and strangers would reap their fields. Then will be the time for us to trust wholly in God, and He will sustain us. I saw that our bread and water would be sure at that time, and we should not lack, or suffer hunger. The Lord has shown me that some of His children would fear when they see the price of food rising, and they would buy food and lay it by for the time of trouble. Then in a time of need, I saw them go to their food and look at it, and it had bred worms, and was full of living creatures, and not fit for use.
Houses and lands will be of no use to the saints in the time of trouble, for they will then have to flee before infuriated mobs, and at that time their possessions cannot be disposed of to advance the cause of present truth. . . .
I saw that if any held on to their property and did not inquire of the Lord as to their duty, He would not make duty known, and they would be permitted to keep their property, and in the time of trouble it would come up before them like a mountain to crush them, and they would try to dispose of it, but would not be able. . . . But if they desired to be taught, He would teach them, in a time of need, when to sell and how much to sell.
In the last great conflict of the controversy with Satan those who are loyal to God will see every earthly support cut off. Because they refuse to break His law in obedience to earthly powers, they will be forbidden to buy or sell. It will finally be decreed that they shall be put to death. . . . But to the obedient is given the promise, “He shall dwell on high: his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.” Isaiah 33:16. By this promise the children of God will live.

Dear Friends,
The theme of many of the psalms is deliverance.  Truly deliverance is our greatest need, for we are unable to save ourselves.  David prayed, “Make haste, O God, to deliver me; make haste to help me, O LORD. Let them be ashamed and confounded that seek after my soul: let them be turned backward, and put to confusion, that desire my hurt. Let them be turned back for a reward of their shame that say, Aha, aha. Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: and let such as love thy salvation say continually, Let God be magnified. But I am poor and needy: make haste unto me, O God: thou art my help and my deliverer; O LORD, make no tarrying.” Psalm 70
Even though we are not driven from our home and hunted down like an animal as was David, we have an enemy that is far more dangerous than Saul. “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”  Eph 6:12  Our enemy is constantly on our heels laying snares for our feet.  If we are not vigilant, we will find ourself in situations where it seems that there is no way out. If we try to fight the enemy in our own strength, we will soon realize that he has us in his snare.  We cannot see any solution to the trap we find ourselves in. Paul advises, “Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”  vs 13-17
Often the evil one uses people around us to cause us to fall from the Heavenly path. We might get caught up in friendships which cause us to turn our eyes from our Greatest Friend. Sometimes family members can pressure us to go against our conscience. Sometimes those we thought were friends stab us in the back with gossip. When our friends turn against us, He becomes our Loving Comforter.  He places His great arms of love around us and comforts us.  He promises, “call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.” “I will deliver thee out of the hand of the wicked, and I will redeem thee out of the hand of the terrible.” Ps 50:52; Jer 15:21 “The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.  Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.” Ps 34:16-19
Many times self is our greatest foe. Selfishness brings a whole list of sins in its track. We stand before God as did Joshua all stained and filthy in our sins.  “Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel. And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment. And I said, Let them set a fair mitre upon his head. So they set a fair mitre upon his head, and clothed him with garments. And the angel of the LORD stood by.”  Zech 3:3-5  Think of it!  Our Great Redeemer will even deliver us from our own selfish nature! He says to us, “Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.” Isa 45:22 Praise God!  We can look to Jesus Who is mighty to save!  He hears our faintest cry for help. He will cleanse us! He will redeem us!  He will rebuke the evil one who is constantly trying to cause us to sin.
Let us flee to our Dear Saviour’s arms of love, for He is our “hiding place” (Ps 32:7) from the wicked who desire our destruction. Let us cast “all (our) care upon him; for he careth for (us).” 1 Peter 5:7  Let us turn from the suggestions of the evil one and “press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus” is my prayer.
