Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. Ephesians 1:3.

Do we remember that the mercies of the Lord are new every morning, and that His faithfulness faileth not? Do we acknowledge our dependence upon Him, and express gratitude for all His favors? On the contrary, we too often forget that “every good and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights.”

How often those who are in health forget the wonderful mercies that are continued to them day by day, year after year. They render no tribute of praise to God for all His benefits. But when sickness comes, God is remembered.—Testimonies for the Church 5:315.

Satan seeks to draw our minds away from the mighty Helper, to lead us to ponder over our degeneration of soul. But though Jesus sees the guilt of the past, He speaks pardon; and we should not dishonor Him by doubting His love. The feeling of guiltiness must be laid at the foot of the cross, or it will poison the springs of life. When Satan thrusts his threatenings upon you, turn from them, and comfort your soul with the promises of God. The cloud may be dark in itself, but when filled with the light of heaven, it turns to the brightness of gold; for the glory of God rests upon it.

God’s children are not to be subject to feelings and emotions. When they fluctuate between hope and fear, the heart of Christ is hurt; for He has given them unmistakable evidence of His love. He wants them to be established, strengthened, and settled in the most holy faith.—Testimonies to Ministers, 518.

Dear Friends,

Over the past months there have been some very interesting developments in the country and throughout the world. This sinful, old world is showing signs that “the end of all things is at hand.” 1 Peter 4:7 It is totally out of control! Wars and rumours of wars, famines, pestilences, earthquakes, man’s inhumanity to man, all foretell that Jesus is coming again. Soon, we “shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.” (Matt 24) Praise God! All of the heartache, all of the sadness, all of the unfairness of this life, all of the pain, all of the death will be a thing of the past when our Dear Saviour comes again!

A song we used to often sing and is so applicable for today is Lift Up the Trumpet by Jessie E. Strout

*Lift up the trumpet, and loud let it ring: Jesus is coming again! Cheer up ye pilgrims, be joyful and sing; Jesus is coming again! Coming again! Coming again! Jesus is coming again!

Echo it, hilltops; proclaim it ye plains, Jesus is coming again! coming in glory, the Lamb that was slain; Jesus is coming again! Coming again! Coming again! Jesus is coming again!

Heavings of earth, tell the vast, wondering throng: Jesus is coming again! Tempests and whirlwinds, the anthem prolong; Jesus is coming again! Coming again! Coming again! Jesus is coming again!

Nations are angry— by this we do know Jesus is coming again! Knowledge increases; men run to and from; Jesus is coming again! Coming again! Coming again! Jesus is coming again!

“Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.” “Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.” Luke 12:40; 2 Peter 3:14
