Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. Malachi 4:5.
To prepare a people to stand in the day of God, a great work of reform was to be accomplished [by the Advent Movement]. God saw that many of His professed people were not building for eternity, and in His mercy He was about to send a message of warning to arouse them from their stupor and lead them to make ready for the coming of the Lord.
This warning is brought to view in Revelation 14. Here is a threefold message represented as proclaimed by heavenly beings and immediately followed by the coming of the Son of man to reap “the harvest of the earth.”
The angels are represented as flying in the midst of heaven, proclaiming to the world a message of warning, and having a direct bearing upon the people living in the last days of this earth’s history. No one hears the voice of these angels, for they are a symbol to represent the people of God who are working in harmony with the universe of heaven.
The three angels’ messages are to be combined, giving their threefold light to the world. In the Revelation, John says, “I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.”… This represents the giving of the last and threefold message of warning to the world.
Revelation 18 points to the time when, as the result of rejecting the threefold warning of Revelation 14:6-12, the church will have fully reached the condition foretold by the second angel, and the people of God still in Babylon will be called upon to separate from her communion. This message is the last that will ever be given to the world; and it will accomplish its work. When those that “believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness” (2 Thessalonians 2:12), shall be left to receive strong delusion and to believe a lie, then the light of truth will shine upon all whose hearts are open to receive it, and all the children of the Lord that remain in Babylon will heed the call: “Come out of her, my people” (Revelation 18:4).

Dear Friends,
Many years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Baldwin decided to spend a few days camping in the mountains. They loaded their gear and their little dog, Trixie, into their car and headed for their favorite campground.  Before long, they arrived at their destination, set up came and were having a good, relaxing time for awhile, really enjoying the beauty of the mountains.
Suddenly Trixie started acting strangely. The little dog started spinning around and lying down on the ground and putting her little paws on her head. Mrs. Baldwin picked the little dog up and looked her over carefully. Trixie seemed to be alright, but in a few minutes Trixie again began acting strangely again.  She started whining and spinning and falling. Mr. and Mrs. Baldwin were puzzled by the dog’s actions and very concerned. Trixie to act normally for a little while and then start whining and spinning and falling to the ground.
Very worried, the Baldwin’s picked up their well-loved pet and drove the nearest town to find a vet. When the man examined Trixie, he could find no reason for her actions. He was as puzzled as they were.
On their way back to the campground, the ground suddenly began to shake and roll. A strong earthquake was causing the road to move out from under their car. Moments seemed like hours as they felt like they were going to be shaken to pieces.  Terror filled their hearts. Now they understood Trixie’s actions. She was able to feel the tremors long before they could and had reacted to them.
After the quaking stopped, Mr. Baldwin pulled the car over to the side of the road.  They sat in their car for a little while to calm their nerves and then drove to the campground.  What a sight of devastation met their eyes! The mountain had split in two covering a large portion of the campground including the very spot where they had been relaxing just a couple of hours before! It was a great tragedy. Many people lost their lives that day and those who had escaped were dazed, just walking around trying to comprehend the disaster. How thankful the Baldwins were that their little Trixie had felt the coming earthquake.
Many times in His dealings with His people, our Great Creator has used animals to give a message.  The greatest of these was the establishment of the sacrificial system as soon as Adam and Eve were cast from the garden of Eden.  We catch a glimpse of this in the offering of Abel.  Abraham and all the patriarchs offered the morning and evening sacrifice.  After Israel was delivered from Egyptian bondage, the Levitical priesthood was established and the tabernacle set up which pointed to the Heavenly Sanctuary where Christ ministers in our behalf.  (Heb 8-10) The animal sacrifices pointed to “the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world.”  John 1:29  The one that is the most familiar, however, is His giving Balaam’s donkey the power of speech to deliver a rebuke to His wayward prophet.  (Numbers 22-24, 31)  Most often, He uses animals to teach us a lesson through our observation of nature.  “Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.”  Prov 6:6-8  “No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?”  Matt 6:24-26 “Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.”  Luke 12:6,7
Let us consider the lessons written in nature.  Let us remember as our Great Redeemer tenderly cares for every beast of the forest and the cattle upon a thousand hills, so will He care for us.  Let us praise Him for His watchcare over all.
