For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light. Psalm 36:9.

All created beings live by the will and power of God. They are dependent recipients of the life of God. From the highest seraph to the humblest animate being, all are replenished from the Source of life.13The Desire of Ages, 785.

The youth need to understand the deep truth underlying the Bible statement that with God “is the fountain of life.” Not only is He the originator of all, but He is the life of everything that lives. It is His life that we receive in the sunshine, in the pure, sweet air, in the food which builds up our bodies and sustains our strength. It is by His life that we exist, hour by hour, moment by moment. Except as perverted by sin, all His gifts tend to life, to health and joy.14Education, 197, 198.

A mysterious life pervades all nature—a life that sustains the unnumbered worlds throughout immensity, that lives in the insect atom which floats in the summer breeze, that wings the flight of the swallow and feeds the young ravens which cry, that brings the bud to blossom and the flower to fruit.

The same power that upholds nature, is working also in man…. The laws that govern the heart’s action, regulating the flow of the current of life to the body, are the laws of the mighty Intelligence that has the jurisdiction of the soul. From Him all life proceeds. Only in harmony with Him can be found its true sphere of action. For all the objects of His creation the condition is the same—a life sustained by receiving the life of God, a life exercised in harmony with the Creator’s will. To transgress His law, physical, mental, or moral, is to place one’s self out of harmony with the universe….

To him who learns thus to interpret its teachings, all nature becomes illuminated; the world is a lesson book, life a school. The unity of man with nature and with God, the universal dominion of law, the results of transgression, cannot fail of impressing the mind and molding the character.15Education, 99, 100.

Dear Friends,

Over the years we have loved to go camping in God’s great creation. We enjoyed sweet fellowship with our children as we viewed God’s handiwork. A few things marred our enjoyment, however. Ticks were a real problem especially to Eileen as she seemed to be the main course for that blood-sucking predator. I, on the other hand, was the favorite of the multitudes of mosquitoes buzzing around us. Moreover, how careful we had to be to stay on the trails and not come in contact with the poison ivy that grew everywhere.

But what kept us going was the fact that we got to see many animals close up and personal. Deer that came within yards of our campsite gave us so much pleasure. So did the frogs, turtles, lizards, beaver, moose, elk, eagles, osprey, and many other kinds of birds thrilled us. One time, a tiny mouse that had just left the nest, took up residence in our screened in porch. He was so cute that we decided to welcome him. Unfortunately, that little creature did not live long. One of our vehicles ran over him. It reminded us that death is ever with us in this sinful, old world.

How we look forward to our Heavenly home where there will be no death, no weeds, no ticks, mosquitoes, or poisonous snakes. How wonderful it will be when we can pet a tiger, ride an elephant, interact with animals that we have only read about.

Isaiah was given a glimpse of the glories that await us in that perfect kingdom, “And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them. They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands. They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them. And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear. The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent’s meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD.” “The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice’ den. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.” “The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose. It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing…. Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees. Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompense; he will come and save you. Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert…. And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it… but the redeemed shall walk there…. and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.” Isa 65:21-25;11:6-9;35

May we soon see Jesus coming in the clouds to take us to that grand and glorious place. (1 Thes 4:16,17) May we then exclaim, “Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.” Isa 25:9 May we soon dwell in that grand and glorious land is my prayer.
